Important Vertimax Training Tips

1. Exercise velocity is important! For the best power and speed performance gains, every repetition (post warm up) using VertiMax should be performed with maximum effort and velocity.

2. Low reps, maximum effort for best results! When training to develop explosive power, optimum results are typically achieved when performing 4 to 6 maximum effort repetitions per set and performing 4 to 6 sets of the exercise.

Quarter Quick Jump This exercise with resistance applied to the waist only is one of the primary exercises that should be performed in every VertiMax workout. It is the most effective fundamental exercise you can perform to develop explosive leg power. Recommended workout focusing on explosive power consists of 5 to 6 sets of 6-8 repetitions, two to three times per week.

Quarter Quick Jump w/ Leg & Arm Loading This patented exercise only available with the VertiMax simultaneously applies loading at the waist and arms while jump training. This exercise improves both explosive leg power and arm swing velocity (which accounts for 10-13 percent of vertical jump performance) to maximize the vertical lift component and maximum jumping height. This exercise is recommended for athletes of ages 14 and older who are strong jumpers. Recommended workout focusing on explosive power consists of 5 to 6 sets of 6-8 repetitions, two to three times per week.

  • Why VertiMax for Maximum Linear Speed Gains
  • training

Off-Platform Linear Acceleration - 3 or 4 Point Starts This patented acceleration training system is the only system capable of simultaneously loading the legs through all phases of the running motion when a leg is planted on the ground driving and when the leg is airborne accelerating through the air for the next ground strike. The VertiMax V8 is simple to use but provides the most advanced speed training technology available to most effectively develop speed strength (or power) in all phases of acceleration.

Why VertiMax for Maximum Lateral Speed Gains
    training

Off-Platform Lateral Acceleration - Great lateral acceleration is critical in all ground-based sports. If you want to maximize your ability to accelerate laterally, this video will show your why the VertiMax V8 is the world's top training device. No other system besides the VertiMax V8 can load the drive phase, swing phase and hip rotation at the same time!

    Speed Training Exercises
    training

Hip Flexor High Knee Drive - This is the second most important exercise (aside from the 1/4 Quick Jump) that every athlete should include with the Vertimax when conducting explosive speed training. The High Knee Drive directly develops power in the primary muscle groups responsible for accelerating the foot when it breaks contact with the ground and accelerates forward for the next step. Recommended workout consists of alternately performing 6 sets of 5 explosive repetitions per set for each leg (30 total reps per leg) two to three times per week.

Quick Step - A quick first step is critical in all ground based athletic sports for getting separation between opponents. The VertiMax Quick Step Drill is a great first-step speed drill to build explosive power for acceleration when the foot breaks contact with the ground and accelerates to the next ground strike point. Recommended workout consists of alternately performing 5 sets of 4 explosive repetitions per set for each leg (20 total reps per leg) two to three times per week.
